  • Copper (bare bright, #1, #2)
  • Insulated copper wire
  • Electric motors
  • High temperature alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy, etc.)
  • Stainless steel (300 and 400 series)
  • Iron and steel (structural, plate, rebar, sheet)
  • Appliances (some restrictions apply — call for details)

Not Accepted

  • Refrigerants (CFCs, HCFCs) in any container — Clean Air Act regulations prohibit release of refrigerants
  • Asbestos or asbestos-containing materials (pipe insulation, I-beam surfacing, demolition debris)
  • Oils, gasoline, petroleum products, antifreeze, hydraulic fluids, gear oils, grease
  • PCB-containing items (capacitors, fluorescent light ballasts, transformers)
  • Automobile airbags or canisters containing sodium azide
  • Fluorescent, neon, high-intensity, or mercury vapor lights
  • Any material containing hazardous or toxic substances
  • Explosives or explosive residues
  • Radioactive materials of any kind
  • Tires, wood, dirt, concrete, asphalt, glass, rubber, or other non-metallic materials
  • Automobiles of any kind
